Tip #1: Understand the Assignment Before You Start

Many students rush into writing without fully grasping what the task actually requires. This often leads to confusion, missed points, or even having to redo everything from scratch.

Before you write anything, take a few minutes to do this:

  • Read the instructions carefully. Highlight important keywords like analyze, compare, evaluate, discuss, etc.
  • Identify the type of assignment. Is it an essay? A report? A reflection? Each one has a different style and structure.
  • Check the requirements. Look for word count, format, referencing style (APA, MLA, etc.), and submission deadline.

Taking this small step can save you time, stress, and grades.
A good start leads to a better finish!

See you tomorrow for Tip #2!
